9:17 pm - Stolen from a random forum discussion.
"The difference between good and better is much smaller than the difference between bad and worse."

It is possible, or even likely, that you've seen this already. But I am compelled to share if there is even the slightest chance you have not: http://drhorrible.com/

Normally I don't post advertisements like this but come on now. If for some reason you don't already have this, here is your chance.

5:51 pm - Travesty.
I recently discovered that one of the "vegetables" in V8 is parsely, which is clearly an herb and not a vegetable. My whole world has been turned inside out.

I actually cannot understand how anyone can defend this.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24808102/

"Government lawyers told federal judges that the president can send the military into any U.S. neighborhood, capture a citizen and hold him in prison without charge, indefinitely."

It's even more scary when them doing this with Gitmo sounds like it's just casually accepted now, but them doing in the U.S. raises a new round of real concerns... for them to ignore.

10:40 am - Same shit
Even though it's cnn, it's a pretty good overview of the response comic books got when they were originally introduced, by lawmakers and others.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/books/05/08/comic.books/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

Which is pretty much identical to the response that new forms of music receive, and video games get a lot of.

I just wonder how dumb people must be to just not see this cycle repeating over and over again. This is not unlike the struggle to legalize inter-racial marriage, which is being repeated practically word for word in regards to same-sex marriage. How much time and energy and money is wasted fighting the same stupid losing battles every couple decades?

How many more times do we need to go through this shit before people get the underlying concepts.

I learned a new word today.

Misology:
The distrust or hatred of reason.

Also, as it's for a good cause and an interesting adaptive vocab quiz, here is the link to the place I learned that word.

2:07 pm - Number 24's RL Job
There is a guy that works on the local Boston Market that sounds and looks almost exactly like number 24 from Venture Brothers. I keep wanting to ask him to quote some lines from the show, but that would probably be a little weird.

1:44 pm - Clue = Shakespeare?
So I woke up this morning with a very clear image in my head that the movie Clue was in some ways very similar to Shakespeare's writing style. Unlike typical errant waking thoughts however, this one still makes sense to me upon later reflection.

12:36 pm - Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
Watch this movie.

No, seriously.

The premise is it's a fake documentary about an aspiring supernatural serial killer. I know it sounds weird, and I know you haven't heard about it anywhere else, but for the love of god, just watch it anyway.

Website with trailers.
